Compatible with AutoCAD and most components of its suite of products (Electrical, Mechanical, Architecture, MEP, and Civil 3D), Autodesk App Manager is a free add-on that will help you manage all apps installed for your version of AutoCAD. It will tell you if the app is up to date or if a new version or update has become available. You can also uninstall any Autodesk app from here and even rate it, if you wish.

Autodesk Exchange is where Autodesk offers you dozens of apps to enhance your Autodesk products. They are either natively developed by Autodesk or by one of their many trusted third-party developers, which guarantees their full compatibility with your Autodesk products. You will find apps for nearly anything and most of them for free, which makes them a tempting target for any AutoCAD, Revit, 3ds Max, or Inventor user, to name but a few. If you happen to be one of them, you may find after a few visits to the site that your Autodesk Apps are now piling up on your desktop. At this point, it may be a good idea to check if they’re still up to date, if they’re still compatible with your product, or if you still really need them.

Autodesk App Manager displays all your Autodesk Apps in a neat small interface where you can check at a glance which of them are up to date and which are not. You can view your Apps list either as a detailed list or as a set of icons, and be notified if they are up to date or if they can be updated, which, of course, you can do from here. If you forgot what any of those Apps are for, you can hover your mouse over their names to be informed of the date they were installed, what they do, the version number, etc. If you believe you no longer need them, you can uninstall them from here too. If in the mood for it, you can also rate your Apps directly from this tiny management tool.

As far as functionality goes, this is what Autodesk App Manager can do for you, which some users may find a bit scarce to justify installing a new app on their desktop. However, if you are an avid user of the Autodesk range of products and a collector of its many free and commercial apps, you may find this small free utility a really useful way of having all your Autodesk Apps gathered in one place and permanently updated.
